Bonus is my dream dog, a once in a lifetime dog. He is everything I want in a dog! Bonus is compactly built, but not a particularly large dog. I have never had a dog before that is so strong and powerful. Bonus can turn on the spot and can take off so that the ground shakes beneath him. Everything he does, he does a lot!
Mentally he is moderate – not very soft and not very strong. Always cooperative, pleasing and with a fantastic focus. He is intense in everything he does and performs well under work stress. He can tend to get locked up mentally if he drives too high, so it’s always a balancing act how I reward. He has an extremely high interest in toys, dumbbells and so on.
Bonus is my favorite dog on sheep. Has calm, moderate eye and is really persistent. If I have a difficult task to solve, sheep to be loaded or something else, I choose Bonus. He has a nice natural style. He is driving but with fine flanking. He feels the animals fine, reads them and adjusts pace and pressure. He is fast and accurate. He doesn’t budge if the sheep pressure him and he has never bitten.
Bonus has a exceptional mentality. Always happy and always ready to work. Complete unproblematic mentality. Fine with all other dogs (also fertile males) and no insecurity towards either dogs or the environment. He is social and outgoing – not reserved at all! Totally cool with other male dogs and never has problems with focus. He is social with all people -whether he knows them or not, but he is never social when working. When working he only cares about me.
He does not react to new or strange things and is bulletproof when it comes to sounds.
Bonus mainly trains obedience and he participated in his first WC when he was just two years old. Since then he has been selected for the WC every year, and in 2018 participated in his 3rd WC. Here he was number 33 out of 120 dogs, and the best Danish dog. In 2022 he came in 4th in the qualification at the world championships. Bonus never feels pressured for major championships. When he goes on the field, he gives 120% every time, every day.
